Enclosed below are the minutes of the Bangalore chapter meeting held
yesterday, the 3rd September 2011.

Retina India - Bangalore chapter.

Minutes of the meeting held on Saturday, 3rd September 2001.

Members present: Anandhi Viswanathan, Akhilesh Malani, David Bodapadi,
V Girish and Saurabh malav.
New members: Mrs. Meera, H Nagaraj

L Subramani, Trustee, was also present.

Points discussed:

1. National convention ‘RetinAware’:
a. Brochures have already been distributed to NAB, NFB, Shankar Eye
Clinic, Prabha Eye Clinic, Vasan eye Hospital (main branch),
Netradhama, Samarthanam and Minto Hospital.
b. Brochures will be distributed this week to Lion’s eye Hospital,
rotary eye Hospital, Mitra Jyoti, enable India, Narayan Netralaya and
other smaller eye hospitals.
c. Chapter has received sponsorship for 20 delegates to attend the convention.
d. Anandhi, Akhilesh and Girish to do a final round of calls to
members for convention registration and share final list of
confirmations with David by eod on Tuesday, 6th September.
e. David to arrange for train reservation for the delegates after
collecting their disability concession certificates on Wednesday.
f. Akhilesh to check on availability of group bookings for
accommodation at Delhi.
2. Social awareness programme – Garuda mall.
a. Srikumar / Anandhi to contact the management at Garuda mall to
discuss the mall activity.
b. Further discussions to be held after talking to the management.
3. School sensitization programme.
a. The next edition of the programme can focus on schools in south /
west / central Bangalore.
b. To discuss with special education consultant Mrs. Chitra Kumar to
get an understanding on the schools that need to be included in this
session.
4. Membership Drive / Hospital Outreach / Further discussions:
a. Activity structure-
i. Bangalore chapter to work on a structured approach to recruit
volunteers and network with patients, doctors and general society
through different programmes.
ii. The Structure to streamline activities and identify objectives to
be accomplished within set timelines.
b. Chapter to be formed at Ramnagar
i. Ms. Sangeeta, a member of the Bangalore chapter, has moved to
Ramnagar and has expressed interest in starting RI activities in
Ramnagar.
ii. Anandhi, Akhilesh, David and Nagaraj to travel to Ramnagar on
Sunday, 11th September to participate in the first chapter meeting
there.
c. Nagaraj has offered to help produce about 40 – 50 volunteers from
his college.
d. Meera has volunteered to work on the hospital outreach programme.
