-----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of National Platform For The Rights of the Disabled (NPRD) Sent: 07 September 2011 10:50 To: [email protected] Subject: e-ticketing for disabled Friends, Many of you have rightly raised the issue of extending e-ticketing facility for the disabled. A group of organisations from several states had submitted a memorandum listing several demands concerning the disabled to the Railway Board Chairman in October 2009. One of the issues was extending e-ticketing facility for the disabled. Following up on this, the National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled and a few other organisations are proposing to meet the new Railway Minister with a memorandum reiterating many of the unfulfilled demands, including the one relating to e-ticketing, concessions, accessibility related issues etc. We have been pursuing with the Minister's office for an appointment for the past 20-25 daysh. Hopefully, once the current parliament session is over on June 8, we would be able to get an appointment. We shall keep you informed of the minister's response, once the meeting takes place.
