Dear Salman and others,
Sorry for the delay. Yesterday I was completely involved in testing
process. So could not reply. I could find the source of the problem.
Now we have to work out for the permanent solution. Following is the
result. But I din’t understand your previous message. 2 days ago, you
said that you bought your laptop only 3 days earlier. But in the last
message you said that you restored your machine to November 15th. How
is it possible? Is your system clock not correct?

To prateek aggarwal,
Yes sir. It is due to Audio latency. I downloaded DPC Latency Checker
from the following link:
http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml
When I first ran it on the system, I got all the red bars on the graph
even while there is no sound problem. The latency was varying for
every 2-3 seconds from about 2500 micro seconds to 12500 or 13500
micro seconds. While the sound problem was present, the bars touched
the sealing of the chart. The latency was recorded in the range of
150000 to 300000 micro seconds. Some times it even went up to 700000
micro seconds. Surprisingly, even when I disabled my realtek
soundcard, I got the red bars of same height. Next I suspected network
cards. The moment I disabled my wifi card, it dropped to very low in
the green region (125 micro seconds). If I re-enable the wifi card,
the next second again I got the same red bars. One more thing I like
to tell you, if I enable wifi device and turn on it using the switch
provided on the laptop, it substantially drops but not to green
region. Then I get alternating 2-3 yellow bars (about 1200 micro
seconds) and 1 or 2 red bars (about 6300 micro seconds). The earlier
observations are when wifi is enabled but switch is off. I also ran my
computer for long time to find whether the problem appears after
disabling wifi and it ran without trouble for hours. So it is clear
that my atheros Wi-Fi card is causing it. Now please tell me sir, what
I have to do next for solving that wifi device problem. If you need, I
will provide the screen shots of the graphs obtained using DPC latency
checker.
Salman, as you know this problem does not occur continuously but it
comes and goes for some minutes. Hence I was testing it by running my
system for long time. So I could not reply in time. I did not install
SP3. But if you need it, its download page is

To shona man,
Out of curiosity, I want to know. Can we uninstall BIOS with system restore?
To Kiran Baug,
Do we have difference between Indian and US sites in terms of
downloads available for a model?
