hi friend. i think that the tv remorde should be bluetooth so that the
direction and obsticals between the remote and the device should not be
major hindrence. and allows the user to use the device smoothly. also the
remote should be voice enable.

Hi Vamshi,
There used to be such a device at All India Confederation of the Blind in
Delhi some years ago. I have no idea what the device was called, but it
was
battery-operated and
Was attached to the gate. The device beeped continuously, orienting blind
individuals trying to make their way to the institute. Perhaps a similar
version of the device is available with a remote attachment? Please
contact
Mr. J. L. Kaul of the AICB for further details about the device.

Hi Sudhir,
Excellent initiative. I'd like to have something which gives a signal
when
I reach my home. We know there are remote controls for motor bikes by
which
motor bikes make sound when it is pressed. Similarly I will keep the
remote
pressed when I enter my street and there should be a sound when I reach my
home.
I request all to speak their ideas on the list so that there can be
improvements to each other's thoughts. Besides, we can know if there is a
solution already available which we aren't aware of.

Get your friend in touch with the XRCVC and take things from there.
For me, I need an accessible console for my elliptical trainer.
