Oh! Umesha really that speed is very frustrated! with in one hour, through scan jet4890 you can scan 300 pages very easely. And I think its the fastest speed for having proper scanning, some time through this scanner I become late in turning the pages of the books and the scanner starts new scan. Actually this jet 4890 scanner is from the searies of scan jet 4800 scanners. I was also looking to perchase this kind of scanner but HP told me that they have stopped menufacturing this scanner, because of that I perchased jet 3110. The price of these jet 4890 scanners is with in 14,000 rupees. You can search any other scanner like that. My scanner jet 3110 is also not bad in scanning the page but the problem is only in reverseing the scanning lid and a 10 seconds pause between two scanns though I have set gap of 0 seconds between two scans. If I could able to make fast the reversing of scan lid and reduce the gap of pause of 10 seconds between two scans than my problem will be resolved and I could be able to scan 4 pages per minutes.
