Absolutely agree with your views Madam!
But as Mr. Dinesh aptly pointed out our constraints in regard to
number politics prevailed in the country, who will pay attention to
our hue and cry?
Delhi is full with NGOs working for different disability related
problems. Thousands of physically challenged students, residents can
be found in every nook and corner of the city.
Can not we organise mass demonstration, road jam, and agitation in
front of Parliament, Prime Minister, President, ministry's office and
to different stake holders?
Or, cannot we launch the "Airport Gherao" for even for few hours?
Cannot these attempts be followed in different states with ample media
coverage?
As few days back one of the list members had pointed out that when
rights are not granted with dignity, one should strive hard to snatch
it as due right. For how long we will keep on petitioning and begging
for our human rights?
I think the time demands us now to come out of our houses, offices and
cocoon of intellectualism. Discussing such disgraceful incidents in
our drawing rooms and in limited forums is not going to serve the
purpose sometimes. It requires action, and action as an eye opener for
rest of the world.
Few may consider these words as inflammatory and damaging, but my
question is that if different casts, religious and minority groups can
jam roads for months, the disabled community only does not have right
to follow this only because we are helpless, or, in other words, the
helplessness which has made us peace loving,?
