Dear Pranay
I would await your efforts for the first option.

Thanks and regards
Rajesh

Subject: Re: [AI] Using Ovi maps in Nokia E6

Dear Rajesh,
I think to update the map data for ovi maps 3.03/3.04, there are only two ways.
One, either download the whole map data again using the map loader in a
computer and replace the data in your phone, or, keep your internet on in your
phone so that it would download any updates as you visit different places.

For the first option, I will try to spare sometime in a few days and download
the latest map data of India, and share it with the list. Someone else with
some useful vision to read, can also volunteer to do so, as the Nokia map
loader is not accessible.

For the latter, you also need to do couple of settings in Ovi maps. Set ovi
maps settings to search online, and also set the maps improvements as 'on'.

HTH,

thanks,
Pranay.

Dear Pranay
I cannot do much to assist in this issue.
However, on a related note, would like to ask you how to update ovi map data on
my c5 to reflect the recent updates in the maps if any.
I don't find any updates for the maps on running software update in c5.
Even if it does, as it had some months ago, it only updates the software
without importing the data I suppose.
You had initially provided the data to populate my maps about an year ago.
So, what should be done to have updated data?
Rajesh

Subject: [AI] Using Ovi maps in Nokia E6

Hi all,
I am writing on behalf of Dr.Narendra Chelani, a physiotherapist in Indore, as
his broadband connection is not working.

He recently bought Nokia E6 and have installed Talks 5.3. He is not able to use
ovi maps on it. I tried helping him over a phone call, but could not do much
with my understanding of ovi maps 3.03/3.04 (if that is the limitation). His
GPRS is working fine, and he also has an external GPS receiver which is
connecting to his phone as indicated by its LED.

He would like to talk to some user of ovi maps with E6. If anyone could help,
you may write back your contacts to me keeping his email in CC. Also let us
know if there is any tutorial/demonstration recording available.

thanks,

Pranay.
