Dear Ekinath Adding to Suhas comments, 1 As it is an annual event celebrating Independence Day, the day cannot be shifted. Y.Z had been organising special trek for friend trekkers on both Independence Day and republic day, we decided to join hands. For many years, friend trekkers were not participating because of lack of information. We think it is necessary to cooperate as it is not only an enjoyable sport it is also a rich source to bring about awareness and friendship.
2 We expect many new participants to join in and who would be experiencing trek for the very first time in their life, so we chose an easy spot. It would have both safety and fun. This is just a beginning and hopefully we will also try to revive Basic mountaineering course. Spots around Mahableshwar are also good, however it was felt, it is more prone to heavy rainfall and may not be ideal for beginners. We are looking for numbers, so that we can make all the logistic arrangements and make the trek more comfortable. Agreed, trekking is not particularly inclined towards comfort nevertheless, we strive for minimum discomfort when it can be helped.
