Vasu and Raj, read Prashant Naik's email. There are 2 accessible ATMs in Chenai. Many moreare going to be launched this month. Its amazing but true that Union Bank launched the first talking ATMs and I bank with Union Bank of India. The officers at my branch were unaware of these talking ATMs and thought I was talking nonsense. When I told Prashant about this conversation he pointed me to the link on the Union Bank of India website.So simply put-my branch officers did not know what was happening in their own bank. This will not change for a long while. Therefore Bharat and Raj's problem on Bank accounts. Our job will be to constantly demand the services and point out the circulars. Its tough and it will take time but look at the progress, we are getting there slowly but surely. I must tell you that when the RBI came out with a circular saying that Banks must have one third talking ATMs , a lot of us did not know about all the facilities that we wanted. Many of us have studied ATMs and tried dummy models and experimented before we could guide the Banks as to what is really a talking ATM. Ask Prashant Naik how many hours he has personally spent on this study. Therefore it has taken time. We finally have a good product and this product is spreading.
I am going to chat with my Bank officials soon and try to convince them that we should get a talking ATM, maybe each of you should try too.
