Hi
For HP laptops, there is a tool which will show the quality of each of the
cells in the battery. This may not be accessible, however, you can take
assistance for this limited purpose.
For most part, there would be an issue with the battery. This essentially
happens because we keep the laptop connected on mains power all the time,
resulting in overcharge of the battery and impacting its ongitivity.

The battery of my Laptop is showing it's full level with 100%, but surprisingly
my system is getting shutdown immediately as I disconnect the charger from the
Laptop. Alternatively, the machine is not getting start unless I connect the
charger to the Laptop. Now question persists if battery level is really 100%,
the machine should not shutdown due to power supply and it should work without
any interruption. So, what does it mean, is there any virus? or do I need to
replace the battery.
Here it is important for me to mentioned that my Laptop is around 2 and a half
year old.
Please advise.

NFB Karnataka newly established Braille come talking library at its head office
Bangalore. Here there are more than 150 Kannada, Hindi and English books of
general interest are available at a free of cost for reading. You can borrow
books of your interest. Life time membership fee is RS. 100. Postal service is
also made available on request.

I have a good news for you. It seems that I have seen a free hindi OCR working
..... at least on my laptop it is working.
here is what you have to do.
1. download tesseract OCR from here and install it
2. download another OCR software from here ,it provides the user interface to
the tesseract and it seems that it is accessible.
3. download the hindi trained data from here
4. open the freeOCR software and go to settings menu and then go to open
language folder and paste the hindi trained data in the language folder.
5. you are now done, just open freeOCR software and change the recognition
language. you may need the sighted help at this point as I am not sure you will
be able to change it by yourself.
6. open any hindi sanned image and do the ocr and save it. you should be able
to read it using your screen reader.

Greetings!
I am coming online after a long time. But this time I am coming out with some
interesting piece of info with regard to the CET--Common Entrance Test to be
conducted by our institute--Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
As you all would be aware that TISS conducts a All India level CET to select
its new students every year.
This year we are conducting the CET through online. The CET is scheduled on 13
January, 2013.
Please go through the TISS website at www.tiss.edu and look at the details of
the Admision Process for the M.A. Programmes for the Academic year 2013-15.
You are expected to fill in the Application form online. Please follow the
steps carefully and choose your options and fill up the form Its a very easy
procedure and each stage provides you very clear guidance for filling the form.
Once you are done with the form you are expected to download the details and
take print out of the same.
The last date for submission of the form is 17 November 2012.
TISS would conduct an Orientation Programme for students from the marginalised
sections of the society by the second week of December.
Now, here's the most interesting part of the whole procedure.
As I had mentioned that TISS is conducting the CET online, there is a choice
for written mode and the candidates have to specify that in the Application
Form.
As for the Candidates with Visual Impairment is concerned, we are providing the
Question Paper in Braille and the candidates have to ask their writers to just
tick the right option.
At the same time, we also acknowledge the fact that every one may not be
comfortable with Braille as there are persons with VI who would not have the
opportunity to learn Braille. Hence, we are allowing them to take the Writer's
support.
In order to identify the candidates who need Braille Question Sheets, our
Administrative Staff would contact the VI candidates personally over their
contact numbers and find out their need and make the arrangements accordingly.
So please make use of this opportunity and do well in the CET.
The selected candidates would have to appear for Group Discussion and Personal
Interview in the 3rd week of March.

Hi Ketan,
I've been able to download books from the website. I could even
download your book; just randomly tried it. I could also confirm your
problem of incomplete downloads. I'd suggest you use some kind of
download manager so that your download completes... I'm using
DownThemAll, a Firefox extension. If it doesn't work out, let me know
- I'd perhaps upload it on Sendspace or something... and needless to
say, mail you the link.
