Hi friends,
I had a chat with someone in CSR of a very big consultancy firm a month ago.
Apart from the initial introduction to blindness and low vision, I covered
screenreaders and some other issues. I of course told them that they need to
sensitise their HR people about our capabilities. This is easier said than
done. Sigh.
Nonetheless The CSR team would like to help in anyway that we can tell them.
I have suggested that they conduct some training for our young employees with
their regular trainers at their own conference room so that our trainees get
the feel of the real thing and there is no cost on us nor do we have to
organise anything much.
So now big boss from CSR is coming to meet me on Thursday and I need help.
1. In which cities, could we organise 25 visually challenged trainees for this
training. I am sure of Mumbai and Delhi.
2. What do you want corporate training on? I thought of interpersonal skills at
the office and anything else that they teach their regular employees.
3. If you want a series of trainings then what?
4. If you want their employees as volunteers then apart from reading what else
do yu want them to do.
OK now waiting for feedback before Thursday.
This is a really big company- probably the biggest in the world in their own
space.
