A safe way would be approach the station master at Batkal and request for
class conversion. In case, he states, it can be done by the TT, be sure to
take his name, and his telephone number.

Hello All,
I had gone to the railway station to book a Sleeper Class ticket from
Bhatkal to Mangalore in train 16524.
I was told that due to non availability of quota ticket for this
sector cannot be booked.
However, I was advised by railway department that train will be empty
and I can a general ticket and board the sleeper class. Then I can
request for class conversion and pay the differencce fair.
Please let me know whether this is possible. Also, is there any way I
can know which are the seats that come under Mangalore quota so that I
can occupy those seats.
As the train stops in Bhatkal for only 2 minutes, I will not be able
to check the charts.
Please guide.
