One of my friends tried his luck in dDelhi elections. His name is Bhupender
Singh.
He is a teacher. He did not resign before filing his nominations and hence
he had to face a departmental inquery. He got around five hundred votes and
lost his deposit. In 1998 elections, as far as my memory goes, he got a
ticket from BSP.

Adding to the thread-
1. Javed Abidi stood or as I always say sat for the Lok Sabha elections in
2004 but alas....
2. Also I think someVI stood from Gujrat. Someone can check AI archives and
inform the group.
3. I have been hearing rumours of the current Home Minister Mr. Shinde
having lost one eye. I think it is a Retina problem. Lets wait and see if he
stands in 2014.
There will be others who are old and frail and who should actually be
classified as Disabled who will continue to be politicians.
I am glad to see that some people are interested in the group in politics
and not merely political science for studying and teaching.
If anyone is standing for elections next year or even for a Municipal
election then please let us know. I would be happy to leave my work and work
on the campaign.

Great idea, if the young among us come forward in politics, tables may turn
some day.
By the bye, perhaps I wrote SR Bombai as physically challenged. The name
should be Jaypal Reddy, as Prasanth wrote. I don't know if JFK (John F.
Kennedy) was handicapped. However, the same facts are true of Franklin D.
Roosevelt who became paralytic in 1921 and always tried to hide his
disability from public.

I know a totally blind girl who is an active member of Aam aadmi party
(AAP) launched by Arvind kejriwal.
I also have ambitions to become a politician.
Does anybody know how to join ABVP in college?

Infact I don’t mind submitting myself here that I am also 1 of those who
has never voted till date. The reason is not I don’t like voting but not
aware how EC handles or help Vi to vote?
Can some 1 help understanding?
