Hi, this forword may be intresting for some of you.
"The Blind show us the light!". Many of us who are closely engaged
with Dialogue in the Dark may not find this phrase surprising
anymore, but if you really think about it, it is a powerful
statement of how paradigms can be changed. And when this phrase
comes from a senior manager of a well-known company and a
journalist, you know the experience you have provided the person
through Dialogue in the Dark has had its effect!
Ahmad A. Talib, executive director of news and editorial at Media
Prima who participated in a business workshop at our newly opened
centre in Malaysia writes this touching account of his experience at
the workshop in the New Straits Times

The link below is among the more popular sites in India where young
entrepreneurs share their experiences with others like them. Finding
an entire page dedicated to how the blogger was enamoured by
Dialogue in the Dark in Hyderabad was a telling testimony to how
this concept, even after 25 years hasn't quite lost its magic!

After our favourite trainer, Daniela Dimitrova's visit to Dialogue
in the Dark Tokyo in July, 7-13, 2013, one of Japan's newspapers
with one of the largest circulation featured a column called "the
Face" featured her work with Dialogue in the Dark under the title
"One who devotes herself to spread the cause where all guides are
visually impaired." Since the article was in Japanese, and most of
us aren't really well versed in the language, I present below an
English excerpt of the story. Read on!
Dialogue in the Dark, which is inside an entirely dark space, guided
by blind people, crossing a suspension bridge, even serving hot
coffee, is an organisation which encourages blind people in their
independence. They invited Daniela to give trainings to these local
guides. She has been to over 30 countries to conduct trainings and
people call her "Ambassador of Visually Impaired".
Born in Bulgaria in a mountain side town, she lost her sight at the
age of 6 due to a detachment of the retina. "When I woke up in
morning, I couldn't see
anything. It was hard for me to get over it, but what was harder was
that my parents where the ones receiving all the sympathy from the
neighborhood."
She earned her master's degree in Interpretation and Translation at
the Sophia University. Then, she met Dialogue in the Dark at the age
of 24. She was attracted by the concept that inside the dark, a
reversal of role happens, meaning blind people help those sighted
people who get deprived of their sight temporarily.
Dialogue in the Dark has found its settlement in Japan, resulting in
a long-term exhibition as well an effort to increase the number of
companies adopting Dialogue in the Dark experience for their
employee education hoping to grow their communication skill. She
cheers those guides and trainers who will probably take a more
important role in Dialogue in the Dark of Japan's growth by telling
them "DID Japan trainees are humble and have high educational
backgrounds, but here at DID, you are to provide service to the
sighted visitors. Please be more confident about yourself".

Hope you enjoy reading these touching accounts as much as I liked
bringing them to you!
Until next week when I hope to hunt a few more of these interesting
news articles,
