Friends SSC in its CHSL exam is perpetrating injustice on blind candidates. I am amazed and ashamed that nobody has raised voice against it till now. I wrote to them, with bleak chances of reply. Phones of western region are non functional. Please take time to forward the mail...
From: Asudani, Rajesh Sent: Friday, October 25, 2013 2:04 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: Undue discrimination with blind in forthcoming SSC CGHSL EXAM Importance: High The regional Director Staff selection commission Western region Mumbai Madam / Sir We note that all the blind candidates from the state of maharashtra have been called to Mumbai center for appearing at Combined higher secondary level SSC exam scheduled for October 27, 2013. This is despite the fact that they had opted for centers of their choice in their application forms. This arbitrary decision to compel them to take exam at Mumbai is violative of article 14 of the Indian constitution. It causes needless hardship to them. Further, there is no valid justification for it as the commission does not have to make any herculean arrangements for taking exam of blind candidates. All other examination bodies do conduct exam for the blind at various centers. In fact, SSC also has done so in past few years before reverting to this old method. Secondly, We urge you to follow latest MSJE guidelines for scribe a copy of which is enclosed. As such, please allow the candidates to take the scribe of their choice in exam without stipulating any arbitrary conditions as detailed in the guidelines, or provide them the suitable scribe if they so desire. The practice of SSC to impose the scribe of commission's choice on candidates is totally unjustified. If the same is continued in this exam, we would be forced to take necessary action...
