The only dampner is that it needs to be used with either the default
Microsoft TTS or eSpeak.  
If you want Eloquence or Vocalizer then you need to purchase them
separately.
The TTS on Windows 7 & 8 is pretty good. There are no licensing hassels,
just download window eyes and if you have a valid office 2010  or above
license, it will work in full version.
