Let me also tell you that you can also claim tax exemption for the income which is received as a contribution, for which you need to register with Income Tax authorities. There are various conditions subject to which you get exemption on certain types of income, and there is a limit to which you can carry forward the balance after whole spending and claim tax exemption. There are 2 additional registrations, one with Income Tax Department itself so that donors get exemption under section 80G, and if you want to invite foreign contribution, then you need to register with FCRA wing of Ministry of Home Affairs under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010.
