Hi
The main problem is really getting used to a particular screenreader and its
optimised voices.

I know of persons who have stood by Wineyes all through these years and refused
any other screenreaders.

There is indeed a good learning curve involved and folks find it difficult to
change over. I don't blame them for it.
But, you can certainly consider Wineyes as an excellent screenreader and there
is no problem migrating to it. Regarding the voices, even if were to spend for
descent tts it would be far cheaper than buying expensive screenreaders per say.

Good question. The only reason why I prefer Jaws over Window-Eyes is because of
its responsiveness. May I add that in order to get your preferred voice such as
eloquence / vocalizer, you have to pay an additional fee.

I would say, from a casual / medium user prospective it is certainly beneficial
to avail this offer if you have a valid lisence for Office
2010 Home Addition or above, but from the heavy user's prospective, Window-Eyes
still need to improve in terms of responsiveness.

Features' wise I don't see much difference from a normal user prospective
between these 2 screen readers.

One thing which impresses me about GWMicro is the ability to avail tech support
over phone. This is quite helpful in emergency situations. Freedomscientific no
longer provides international tech support over phone.

If the market of screen readers continues to function in this manner, then I
don't see that day too far when allmost all the commercial screen readers offer
the same set of features. It would be interesting to see how each company
strategically places itself in the market for the future to come. The views
expressed are personal.
