TV cables have done most harm to the quality of the transmission of radio.

I suppose world space radios are good options these days because you hardly
see any shortwave stations with decent clarity and most of the companies
are not willing to invest to improve the shortwave stations quality, so why
to bother about radios with shortwave bands!

Friends

It seems now radio is soon going to be an extinct entity. There are
practically no radio's covering the shortwave bands available. Until
rescently, one could easily get Chineese radios which covered a decent
spectrum of the shortwave and also had the TV bands. Those are no where to
be found in any shops and even online.
Being a radioenthusiast, it was pretty disturbing. Online I could find only
on Rediff shopping store 2 decent model which covered the entire shortwave
spectrum, one was a not known brand, maybe Chineese for Rs. 800, considering
the situation, I bought Sony ICF SW11. Sony radio's are known to be long
lasting and therefore I made the pick. It is good on sensitive, selectivity and sensitivity. It also covered the Long wave band which does not pick any
station in our region.
Although, this was very expensive, I think it is a good buy. I am just
letting folks know, maybe you probably have the last chance on picking a
radio. FM radio's of course are available in plenty.

Harish.
