Hi Bhavya, In that case, encase if you have the drivers CD that came with your laptop, then you can try installing the sound drivers again. If not then you could visit the website of your laptop manufacturer and download the latest sound drivers from there for your particular laptop model.

The default setting which I've never changed from the beginning is Microsoft Sound Mapper which always has worked. I tried switching to Speakers & headphones, and also Headphones RDC, but neither restored the audio system to how it worked before. This issue persists with both NVDA & JAWS, and Electronic Piano (a piano application). Thanks.
