The occasion was a mass marriage function under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana where 15 disabled couples tied nuptial knots.
To top it all, minister for labour, backward classes and minorities welfare Antar Singh Arya's presence as guardian of couples also added to grandeur of the function. Under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana, every couple was given fixed deposit of Rs 10,000, Rs 7000 for running household and good worth Rs 5000. Announcement was made to provide Rs one lakh to the couples whose both spouses are disabled and Rs 50,000 to those whose one spouse is disabled. Besides, various social organisations also presented household items as gift and cash to newlywed couples. Minister said that Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana has cast positive effect on tribal communities.
