Subject: Re: TRUNCATED DIGESTS
For your information, I received Virginia's messages, as well as some other
messages from Accmail from time to time, as an attachment (I'm subscribed
with the individual postings option). The accompanying text from my server
is the following (tentative translation from French) :
"This message uses a character set which is not handled by the Internet Mail
service. To read the content of the original message, open the following
attachment. etc..."
Hoping this is helpfull ..........
Claude.

Dear users
We used to use wwwfetch service to receive the page with its graphics.
WWWfetch is no more free. So, Is there any other alternative?. Either
on-line or using agora and getweb.
Your reply is appreciated.
Regards

I think there is some thing in an RFC about the dot problem. On the
other hand, I manage to use it to an advantage, by killing the
juno-inserted nag line when the message passes thru one of those
gateways.
Now that I realize (as I should have before) that you are accessing via a
BBS gateway, I think the problem MAY be there. What software is the BBS
running? Some using PC-Board use software that will attempt to decode a
UU file when it sees the begin ### line, but if the decode failed (for
example if it was XX encoded) it truncates the message anyway. The one I
use, a wildcat 4 board, will decode single part UU's but passes anything
that fails intact.
I am working for a front end to solve this type of problems, that would
also work on PCB and others.
I am still looking for documentation of the RNEWS compression, for a
usenet anti-spam filter for a BBS gateway of this type.
