Mr. Boyd posted the URL. Though the form is METHOD=POST,
following nevertheless works.

Example: for information about the viaduk.net domain, send
the line in the body of a letter to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois?STRING=viaduk.net

Hello,

I'd like to know how to retrieve a full list of newsgroup off a server by
email and then stuff it into FreeAgent in order for it to work properly.
Far servers are very very slow sometimes and these lists are quite big, ya
know.

Thanks a lot,

They are all Internet protocols for e-mail message delivery.
An Internet protocol is a lnguage which two computers use when
communicating. The protocols mentioned are languages that computer use
when one of them deliver message to another.

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the main protocol on the Internet
for delivery of e-mail messages.
In SMTP the sending server when receiving the message, initiate a
negotiation with the computer it wishes to deliver the message (might be
the computer at the other end or an intermediate server).

POP3 (Version 3 of Post Office Protocol) also deals with message delivery,
but unlike SMTP where the delivery is initiated by the sending server, on
POP3 the delivery is initiated by the receiving computer (this is useful
when the receiving computer is not connected permanently to the Internet).

IMAP (version 4 is the most common, IMAP means Internet Message
Access Protocol), allows the user to access the messages on a remote
computer as if it was a folder on his local computer. He then can access
and read messages on the remote computer, or move them from that folder to
one of the other folders (which are really on the local computer).

For English words, I suggest you use the Merriam-Webster Dictionary
page at:
http://www.m-w.com/netdict.htm

Main Entry: pen pal
Function: noun
Date: 1938
: a friend made and kept through correspondence

So "penpals" are people you meet through writing. In the "old" days,
penpal listings were found in newspapers and in the back of magazines.
Nowadays, most penpals are found through Usenet newsgroups and mailing
lists.

The default subscription options for ACCMAIL are found in the
subscription notice sent to all members. This is the notice that states:

You have been added to the ACCMAIL mailing list (ACCMAIL Discussion List)
by "Gerald E. Boyd" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.

Please save this message for future reference, especially if you are not
familiar with LISTSERV. This might look like a waste of disk space now,
but in 6 months you will be glad you saved this information when you
realize that you cannot remember what are the lists you are subscribed
to, or what is the command to leave the list to avoid filling up your
mailbox while you are on vacations. In fact, you should create a new mail
folder for subscription confirmation messages like this one, and for the
"welcome messages" from the list owners that you will occasionally
receive after subscribing to a new list.
[snip]

Following instructions from the list owner, your subscription options
have been set to "DIGESTS NOACK REPRO NOCONCEAL" rather than the usual
LISTSERV defaults. For more information about subscription options, send
a "QUERY ACCMAIL" command to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[snip]
More information on LISTSERV commands can be found in the LISTSERV
reference card, which you can retrieve by sending an "INFO REFCARD"
command to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

So did you get the REFCARD? Did you confirm your options with the QUERY
command?

In the REFCARD you will see:

set listname options Alter your subscription options:
ACK/NOACK/MSGack                  -> Acknowledgements for postings
CONCEAL/NOCONCEAL -> Hide yourself from REVIEW
Mail/NOMail -> Toggle receipt of mail
MIME/NOMIME                       -> Prefer/avoid MIME format
                                     (especially MIME digests)
DIGests/INDex/NODIGests/NOINDex -> Ask for digests or message
                                     indexes rather than getting
                                     messages as they are posted
REPro/NOREPro -> Copy of your own postings?
TOPICS: ALL -> Select topics you are
        <+/->topicname               subscribed to (add/remove
                                     one or replace entire list)

So you should send a SET ACCMAIL NODIGESTS command to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
