Dear Sen:

The following is a quick, rough, but resonably accurate translation
which says, in three major sections that:
1) The contest for designing a banner is now over, and that the winning
entry was submitted by Joerg Richter of Lower Saxony.
You can see the banner displayed on their Web page in the Linkbonus
section.
2) The contest sponsors would like to learn more about the people who
entered the contest. The ask the latter to fill out an online form. All
information will be submitted anonymously, but they ask such people to
give their e-mail address.
As an inducement to provide the information, two LogiTech QuickCam VC
Webcameras will be raffled off.
3) A program named URLRequester 3.0 beta is downloadable from the Web.
They say they've improved it in various ways.
After the beta testing phase is over they'll promptly release it as
freeware.
They then conclude their announcement by giving instructions about
removing your e-mail address from their mailing list.

Hope this satisfies your curiosity.

                                       Sincerely,

Hi all,

If I uninstall IE4, and then Install IE5, will I still have the system

In other words, can I install IE5 without ever having to install IE4,
and get the same results as if I had Installed IE4 and then on top
Installed IE5 ?

I want to free some hard disk space, and besides, If I have IE5
I don't think I need both versions, do I?

First off you should not send messages like this to the list members.
You should send it to the moderator (me!). I only posted this message
to inform all members of the steps required to change your subscription
listings, especially for lists that are moderated or unmoderated.

Normally, you unsubscribe from the list before you start using your new
address. You then re-subscribe to the list using your new address. If
you changed your address before unsubscribing then you will have to
contact the list owner to have then delete your old address. You can
subscribe to the list using your new address but you must have your old
address removed.

Contact me off-list to tell me what address you want unsubscribed and
what address you want subscribed.

IE5 is setup to upgrade existing IE4 installations. So you save nothing
by uninstalling IE4 and then doing a IE5 installation. And no you don't
need both -- you end up with IE5.

This answer was posted on the 03Apr99... I guess you must be new and
also don't save subscription information -- especially those that tell
you to save.

The default subscription options for ACCMAIL are found in the
subscription notice sent to all members. This is the notice that states:

You have been added to the ACCMAIL mailing list (ACCMAIL Discussion List)
by "Gerald E. Boyd" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.

Please save this message for future reference, especially if you are not
familiar with LISTSERV. This might look like a waste of disk space now,
but in 6 months you will be glad you saved this information when you
realize that you cannot remember what are the lists you are subscribed
to, or what is the command to leave the list to avoid filling up your
mailbox while you are on vacations. In fact, you should create a new mail
folder for subscription confirmation messages like this one, and for the
"welcome messages" from the list owners that you will occasionally
receive after subscribing to a new list.
[snip]

Following instructions from the list owner, your subscription options
have been set to "DIGESTS NOACK REPRO NOCONCEAL" rather than the usual
LISTSERV defaults. For more information about subscription options, send
a "QUERY ACCMAIL" command to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[snip]
More information on LISTSERV commands can be found in the LISTSERV
reference card, which you can retrieve by sending an "INFO REFCARD"
command to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

So did you get the REFCARD? Did you confirm your options with the QUERY
command?

In the REFCARD you will see:

set listname options Alter your subscription options:
ACK/NOACK/MSGack                  -> Acknowledgements for postings
CONCEAL/NOCONCEAL -> Hide yourself from REVIEW
Mail/NOMail -> Toggle receipt of mail
MIME/NOMIME                       -> Prefer/avoid MIME format
                                     (especially MIME digests)
DIGests/INDex/NODIGests/NOINDex -> Ask for digests or message
                                     indexes rather than getting
                                     messages as they are posted
REPro/NOREPro -> Copy of your own postings?
TOPICS: ALL -> Select topics you are

                                     one or replace entire list)

So you should send a SET ACCMAIL NODIGESTS command to

Dear Nguyen Duc Hoan,

Are you sure ftp.fpt.vn is a server that one can connect to from outside your

not know to the outside world.

Strong Feelings
Emotion, Addiction, and Human Behavior
by Jon Elster
March 1999
ISBN 0-262-05056-0
252 pp., 8 illus.
$25.00 (cloth)

Excerpt:
Emotion and addiction lie on a continuum
between simple visceral drives such as
hunger, thirst, and sexual desire at one end
and calm, rational decision making at the
other. Although emotion and addiction involve
visceral motivation, they are also closely linked
to cognition and culture. They thus provide the
ideal vehicle for Jon Elster's study of the
                     interrelation between three explanatory
                     approaches to behavior: neurobiology, culture,
                     and choice.

LDAP - Lightweight Directory Access
Protocol, a set of protocols for accessing
information directories. LDAP is based on the
standards contained within the X.500 standard,
but is significantly simpler. And unlike X.500,
LDAP supports TCP/IP, which is necessary for
any type of Internet access. Because it's a
simpler version of X.500, LDAP is sometimes
called X.500-lite.

Although not yet widely implemented, LDAP
should eventually make it possible for almost
any application running on virtually any
computer platform to obtain directory
information, such as email addresses and
public keys. Because LDAP is an open
protocol, applications need not worry about the
type of server hosting the directory.

Search AltaVista using "+spiny +lobster +culture". Use a ww4mail server
or Agora.

You can get my file by anonymous FTP at:
  get ftp.netcom.com/pub/gb/gboyd/wsalta.faq

Or by Agora, Getweb, or W3mail
  send ftp://ftp.netcom.com/pub/gb/gboyd/wsalta.faq

If using this method:
&q=%2Bspiny+%2Blobster+%2Bculture

Example results:
1. Status & Prospects of Spiny Lobster Culture
Status & Prospects of Spiny Lobster Culture. Participants will learn of
the latest research and development

Mail servers send out mail not images unless the image is part of the
MIME or HTML message then the image is sent as an encoded attachment.

If you mean how to you get images from a web server, then see the help
files for Agora, Getweb, www4mail and other servers.

If you mean something else, then please re-phrase the question...
