Subject: Re: setting up mailing list through accmail?

There are other alternatives to LISTSERV
which is excellent but a tad expensive
or onelist which is rather web-oriented.

There are a number of places that host lists
using majordomo software
which is not as great as LISTSERV
but more flexible than onelist and other web-based lists
and exceptionally email-friendly.

There are some that will host a list for free
others charge quite reasonable amounts
(compared to LISTSERV)

I had some information about a year ago
but it is probably rather out of date
and I haven't time just now to dig it out
but if no-one else has the information to hand
if wang writes me privately
I'll see what I can find.

I would like to thank Mr. boyd for his answer.

here I have several other questions related to this topic:

1) does anyone know where I can find a site which offers free hosting
service for mailing lists? (is OneList free? what's its URL address?
are its relevant functions automatic?)

2) are there any email forwarding servers which can forward messages to
up to several hundred addresses?

You asked for a directory listing (dir command) and the ftp server sent
you one.

To learn how to read Unix style directory listings, see the section
"EXAMPLE FTPMAIL RETRIEVAL" in my howto1 document.

An easy-to-use online instant messaging program
developed by Mirabilis LTD. Prounounced as
separate letters, so that it sounds like "I-Seek-You,"
ICQ is similar to America OnLine's popular Buddy
List and Instant Messenger programs. It is used as a
conferencing tool by individuals on the Net to chat,
e-mail, perform file transfers, play computer games,
and more.

Just combine the split parts using the DOS prompt and the command
copy part1/b + part2/b new

This would copy parts1 and 2 into a new file called "new"

Now you would need Ghostscript to work with the completed Postscript
document.
Ghostscript is the name of a set of software that provides:

An interpreter for the PostScript (TM) language, with the ability to
convert PostScript language files to many raster formats, view them on
displays, and print them on printers that don't have PostScript
language capability built in;

An interpreter for Portable Document Format (PDF) files, with the same
abilities;

The ability to convert PostScript language files to PDF (with some
limitations) and vice versa; and

A set of C procedures (the Ghostscript library) that implement the
graphics capabilities that appear as primitive operations in the
PostScript language.

See http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/index.html

BTW, next time you post to this list, please add a descriptive subject
line.
