I've been using [EMAIL PROTECTED] lately and it is slow at times, but I
always get a response. I just used it today and I got a response from
it, so I don't think it is defunct.

You can't. At least not yet. The update is direct from the MS web site
to your PC. No similar address like an ftp site to refer you to. You
need to be online with a web browser.

Well, I've just received a response from Bellanet for a query I sent off a
couple days ago, after I got a number of 'Unable to send message for the
last 4 hours' errors -- it just appears to be in a bad mood right now. Try
it again in a few days.

I have received answers to both now
with info as follows

<edited as it is quite long>

How to use www4mail?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
... It is simple!
Within the body of an e-mail message to:  www4mail just specify the
Internet "address", called Uniform Resource Locator (URL), of the Web
site(s)/page(s) you want to retrieve. By default these will be sent as
e-mail Attachments. To get Web documents in the body of an e-mail message
you may also add one of the options SEND, GET, GET SOURCE, or XSOURCE as
indicated next. Or use XUUENCODE to request uuencoding contents.
           To:  [EMAIL PROTECTED]
      Subject:          (... whatever you like)
and write (one or up to 5 requests) in the body of the e-mail:
           http://www.ictp.trieste.it/
           http://www.ictp.trieste.it/~www4mail
           ...
www4mail will reply with the requested Web document as an e-mail
attachment which you can visualize with any standard Web browser like
Netscape, Internet explorer, Lynx, etc.  Therein, the original page layout
(tables, colours, etc) will be preserved.
www4mail Quota Limits
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As of the date of this User's Guide, the quota period of www4mail free
usage is limited to 300 requests (in the categories - html or text or
document source) per week.

If you have exeeded your weekly quota, www4mail will inform you with a
"503 Error Message - Service Unvailble (quota finished)" and will stop
anwsering your requests after that!

Subject: how to get files in cyrillic

Hy everybody.

I tried to retrieve http://www.reuters.com/cis/ . This site has news
from Russia in russian. I tried www4mail and the [EMAIL PROTECTED] to get
the file but I got corrupted data instead. Of course I changed the page
encoding but it did not help. I wonder which servers can retrieve data
in cyrillic. If any person could tell me how to get files in cyrillic
or any idea, I'll be grateful.

Thanks.

Azuaje.

An autoresponder set up by Tyler Akins at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Tyler Akins AKA (also known as) fidian has been around here for 3 or
more years with different binky servers. I think this is the 4th one.

To get the help file, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word
"help" in the body of a message.

Accmailers,

I made the June 1999 issue of Online Today magazine located in Germany.
You can also see parts of it online at: http://www.online-today.de/online/

See the article titled "So werden Sie zum E-Mail-Profi" click the link
on the home page at the right.

BTW, for the German readers on this list, I'd like to know if it says
what I wrote (:>)
That is, did it come out as a decent article in German?
Contact me directly please...
