Nobody forbids you to subscribe to daily statistics separately from
ACCMAIL list. Besides so you can get them 23 hours fresher.
One more time repeat excerpt from those same statistics you so like:

| Want this list every day? Send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and in the
| body of your message put "join statistics" (no quotes)

Or you want to say that you are too lazy to send a letter _once_ for
subscription to separate daily statistics? And those ACCMAIL subscribers
who don't want statistics _in ACCMAIL_ must waste resources for them
because of your laziness?

| But I think Ma.Cri's proposal of categorizing the server list like agora , www4mail
|,
| ftpmail is the best proposal made this month. I think this proposal is an useful one.

I don't think so, there are so few servers left that it's easy to follow the statistics
even uncategorized.

Actually this is not a proper request for this list, or at least not
the way you worded it. I only let it through to make a point about
off-topic requests.

However, the "Welcome to the Numerical Recipes Home Page. The
Numerical Recipes (NR) books are developed by Numerical Recipes
Software and published by Cambridge University Press (CUP, with U.K.
and U.S. websites)." is located at:

Dear Mohammad,
I don't work with Agora at all because I found www4mail
much better, easier to work, faster, and with more abilities.
So try that this instead. You can also do FTP by www4mail
and receive results in size, which you specified.

No commands for Agora servers to split files. Some of the ftpmail
servers allow file splitting, sending by parts, and sending of missing
parts.

The www4mail servers allow file splitting...

Subject: usenet via [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Good evening everybody,

I've sent several emails to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "news://<server>/<newsgroup>"
in the body (I am assuming that I have understood the help text
correctly). Each time, they returned the mesage "lynx: can't access
startfile". What does this mean exactly?

Another question: Is there a way of finding out what servers carry a
particular newsgroup?

TIA

Accmailers,

It has come to my attention through several Accmailers that 2 more
services listed in the Accmail FAQ are defunct. They will be removed in

For news://news.demon.co.uk/ I get server responded: no access

The only valid list of free NNTP servers, is Doc's List -- he updates
it weekly
http://home1.gte.net/docthomp/servers.htm

However, most of these only contain only 4 or 5 groups...
alt.2600.warez
alt.binaries.pictures.erotica
rec.food.cooking
news.admin.net-abuse.usenet
misc.test
alt.free.newsservers

Another good list updated last on 23Jun99
Rob's News Service
http://www.freenntp.com/complete.htm

The free ones listed here contain 10,000 - 20,000 newsgroups.
