weeks:

As I recall, I found the accmail FAQ when looking for some thing else, on
the web, at the library. Once I found that, and the E-mail interface to
RTFM.MIT.EDU, I was off and surfing www by mail.
This was a long time ago, so I may have some of this less than accurate.

Hello ACCMail ...
>> I want to set up a high-bandwidth public getweb ...
I have been thinking about setting up an experimental
low-bandwidth GetWeb on my shell account.
I have to think carefully about bandwidth as I run
three virtual servers, and want to add more. My idea
is to set up GetWeb so that bandwidth would not
exceed the daily limit imposed by my upstream
provider.
But is it possible?
I don't have a lot of time for telnet tweaking, so
is there anyone out there who already knows the
answers to these questions?
1. Is it really necessary to create a new user
account?
2. Can GetWeb be interfaced to procmail?
(Does anyone have a procmail recipe?)
3. Does anyone have any idea what sort of demands
GetWeb puts on the server? (It's all written in
Perl, which can really slow down a server if
used heavily.)
4. Can requests be queued and handled by a cron
job at off-peak times?
5. What is the size of the full installation?
I know these are awkward questions, but I think
the best way to encourage more GetWeb servers is
to have a publically available FAQ.

Subject: Restricted Country Domains
Crossposted to HELP-NET.
For some reason, I am unable to send e-mail to certain
country domains (such as .IL, .DE, etc.).
What can I do to get around this problem? Is there some
sort of mail server in the U.S.A. where I could send my
e-mail (with the recipient address indicated somewhere)
so that my message could be forwarded to the intended
addressee?
If possible, I would like to avoid opening an account
with one of the anonymous remailers as I do not wish to
send anonymous or encrypted messages.
I have e-mail access only to the internet.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It seems to be a temporary problem, but there are two ways around this
problem.
The simple method is to relay the message trough a second mailer.
For example: if you wish to send a message to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
you may send it to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] .
It will then be posted to UNL.EDU and from there it will be relayed to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (notice the original "@" became "%").
The problem, is that fewer and fewer servers allow relaying to general
mail servers, and it might be that by posting this method to Help-Net, the
UNL staff will see this and will decide to disallow relaying.
At the moment it works and if it doesn't you may try to look for a
different mail server which allows relaying.
A second way is to use an anonymous server that does not need
registration, but to give your real address (or a forwarding address to
you) in the body of your message) as you don't really want it to be
anonymous.
Both methods, assume that you don't have problems in receiving messages
from those addresses, only in posting to them.

Netters,
Cross-posted to Help-Net and Accmail
Just for fun and because I couldn't find anything suitable on the web,
I uploaded a web page that is a diary of my DSL experiences. I actually
haven't got online with it yet, but I thought that if any of you are
interested in DSL you might see the trials and tribulations that some
other person was going through.
