Please, tell me ,if you know, what did i do wrong ? I think it can be the missing "." before the "exe" ? What about the "%2" signs ? Or was i mistaken when i was splitting the path of the file with "\" ? ( because it was to long ? ) Thanks for your time. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Jul 1999 06:01:04 +0100 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: FTPMail, Agora, etc. statistics FTPMail, Agora, etc. statistics for Fri 23 Jul 1999, posted Sat, 24 Jul 1999 05:00:10 GMT Less than 1 hour [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] 1-4 hours [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] 4-10 hours [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] More than 10 hours None Response within 4 hours in at least 5 out of 7 recent tests [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Note: [EMAIL PROTECTED] doesn't reply to .net or .com addresses. Though IBM's support is wishy-washy, there are still many, many enthusiasts worldwide enjoying the benefits of OS/2, as well as corporate institutions throughout Germany, Canada, the US etc. Organisations like SCOUG, VOICE and OS/2 ezine are actively promoting it and new applications are being ported to OS/2 all the time. I am a relative novice as far as computing is concerned, having started from complete scratch barely 3 years ago at the age of 60+, but was lucky enough to be introduced to OS/2 by a young local guru. I have never regretted it for one second, and refuse to be browbeaten into changing over to M$oft's crummy operating systems. OS/2 is brilliant - reliable, versatile, bug-free, and seldom, if ever, crashes. I realize that you, Gerry, must keep up with all the latest M$ stuff as well, but those of us who know the benefits of OS/2 should not consign it to "history", but rather actively promote it and force IBM out of their apathy. Therefore, no apologies for this rant, which though it may appear to be off-topic on Accmail, might just make 2000+ Accmailers aware that there is a worthwhile OS out there other than the unreliable and bug-ridden hyped-up Micro$oft systems. Why not check out the following - it sends me by email a daily digest of OS/2 news worldwide: To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.warpcast.com/ borracha --- MR/2 2.1 NR ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Jul 1999 19:21:34 +0500 From: Irfan Khan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: news by e-mail Dear ACCMAILers, I am interested in knowing about *free* services that deliver current/daily news by e-mail. The latest access-via-email FAQ version 8.2 mentions only one source of obtaining news by e-mail: > * WORLD NEWS REVIEW A daily news digest from international press > and broadcast sources. Send E-Mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with > "info nr-world" in the message body. Many of us either use or know of the Infobeat service [http://www.infobeat.com] which delivers news twice or once a day. It is, indeed, an excellent source. I have been using the following two services: - ET [Economic Times] News Briefs http://www.economictimes.com - The DAWN Internet NewsAlert (DINA) http://dawn.com/fixed/subs/newdinasub.htm Do you know of other sources that deliver news by e-mail? I am especially interested in services offered by newspapers and magazines. Regards, Irfan ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Jul 1999 11:42:57 -0700 From: "Gerald E. I fought the tide for years. I used OS/2 since it first came out. It was on every PC I owned. However, when I bought a new PC in December of '98 things went from bad to worse. First off, I searched all over the world for a driver for my modem, even the modem drivers IBM site didn't have any and suggested the maker. Fine, I tried that, no drivers for OS/2 for my modem. Fine, I'll buy an external model. Checked US Robotics -- no OS/2 drivers, Zoom -- no OS/2 drivers, forget it, I'll just use a Zoom external and to heck with OS/2. Same thing happened with my Iomega Zip and Ditto tape drives -- no drivers. In January, I started investigating a DSL line. Guess what?, no plans for OS/2. Hence, in March when I bought another new PC I didn't even bother with OS/2. I now have 6 PCs and OS/2 isn't on any of them. Heck you can't even get an OS/2 driver for a Netgear Ethernet card. I got Win 95/98/NT and Linux drivers but alas no OS/2 I just got my LAN running and hooked up to a full-time DSL line. You think I could get OS/2 install for the DSL, nope and I looked and looked. I even contacted the company that made the software -- no plans for OS/2 but "we are working on Linux." IBM gave away the market and I despise them for it. I loathe the underhanded and dirty way they abandoned all of us OS/2 users -- they literally forced me into Microsoft. -- they even gave the browser to Netscape. M$ stinks to be sure, but I'm slowly working toward a Linux world... Here is a list of equipment that needs an OS/2 driver: HP Laserjet 6P printer Iomega parallel port Zip drive Iomega Ditto Max internal 3.2Gb tape drive Zoom 56K PCI faxmodem Zoom 56K external faxmodem Netgear FA310TX 10/100Mbps Ethernet Card Alcatel 1000 DSL modem HP 8210i CD-R/RW Matrox Millenium Mystique Video Card Mag DJ920 21" monitor Other noname stuff -- PCI modems, video cards, CD-ROMs I found Win and Linux drivers for all of this, but no OS/2 drivers. Gads, I just bought a cheap ($8) ISA sound card to replace a PCI one that is interferring with my Ethernet card. It includes DOS, Win 3.x, 95/98/NT drivers. Now, do you really believe I can find an OS/2 driver for it? -- Gerry Boyd -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Jul 1999 21:34:42 +0200 From: Kokeny Bela <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: acknowledgement Thanks a lot to Mr. Alexander Ilyin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> for helping me to solve in the privat mailing my "submit button" problem and making me easier to surf on internet via WEBMAIL ----- Kokeny Bela [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------ End of ACCMAIL Digest - 23 Jul 1999 to 24 Jul 1999 (#1999-206) **************************************************************
