The norepro did that. noack terns off the acknowledge (but not the

Examine it with a file viewer.

If it starts with some thing looking like enternet headers, but with
different keywords, then look for some thing similar to
content-transfer-encoding: for a clue. A decoder like uudeview should
work.

If it is ALL gibberish, but the string JFIF is some place near the
beginning, then it just needs to be renamed. (Some picture viewers do
not even need that!)

There was an article some place earlier this month about how small a
percentage of the net was included in search engines. It totally lacked
reference to QUALITY of output.

As an example, it noted that YAHOO had the smallest index, but failed to
note WHY: YAHOO is mostly manually maintained, not using "spiders" or
"crawlers" to add sites. The result is a better quality index.

I have downloaded the zip file and find it useful - thank you William C
Andrews. However, in the service file for sending Anonymous Email one of
the remailers (I have yet to try all of them) does not seem to be working -
for example:

when you send it to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED]
you get this:

> ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
><[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
>
> ----- Transcript of session follows -----
>550 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Host unknown (Name server:
huge.cajones.com: host not found)
>

Maybe William C Andrews or someone knowledgeable about these things would
be kind enough to check this out and help in modifying the service file.

Also, is <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> a separate anon. remailer? It
gets added automatically on when you try the <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
option.

Thanks!

}------------------------------

Sounds like you are hitting a total-mailbox-size limit. Juno users know
about this one. (ours are limited to a bit under a meg!) The problem,
as you can see, is that you are missing parts 10 and up. You need to use
a server that can give you selected parts. The gopher method is common
for this.

Note that the encoded files will be about 35% larger than the decoded ZIP
(not counting internet headers). You are looking for about 9,482,238
bytes of body! You appear to be getting a about half of it, but part 9
sounds truncated (it should be the same size as 8, as it is NOT the last
part!)

Key statement about is the Encoding method -- base64 which is a form of
MIME encoding. You need a MIME/base64 decoder.

Several to choose from at SimtelNet. I mentioned them many times on
this list previously. Also the old 4u series have more listed.

I tried to get a file[2.2MB] for the past week and failed.

What am I doing wrong here . . .

The url for example
                 = ftp://mrx:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:500/directory/file.zip

I interpret this = Username - mrx
                   Password - pass
                   ftp - 12.34.567.890
                   Port - 500

Sent FTP EMAIL =
                   TO: ftpmail@....
                   SUBJECT: <blank>
                   BODY:
                   open 12.34.567.890:500 mrx pass
                   cd dirctory
                   get file.zip
                   quit

I sent this format to deferent ftp mail servers and
two separate ftp sites for the file, but failed.

Please help me with the correct format.
