Subject: problem with files splitted by gomail
Hi accmailers.
I used [EMAIL PROTECTED] to retrieve a large GIF from a gopher site. I set the
splitting option equal to 400KB. I got the first
part as an incomplete GIF ( I could view it as incomplete GIF ). The second part was -
I think - a uuencoded file since I saw the
"end" statement in the last line ( without "begin" statement at the beginning )
Now, my question is how to join this to part together.
Please note that I am using Netscape messenger as my e-mail client program.

I have a problem with [[EMAIL PROTECTED]].
Several days ago I requested a webpage, and ever since, I've been
receiving endless replies, all identical except for date/hr...
I've tried contacting them at the following e-dresses:
>>>
I had a similar problem recently. I sent of a request with 5 URL's.
The 3rd one caused an error and I repeatedly got the first 2.
It took 9-11 days to clear. I tried several different addresses
to clear it. It cleared automatically.

Using Eudora to access my Yahoo mail account from - pop.mail.yahoo.com works fine,
but when I try to send using smtp.mail.yahoo.com it fails to send.
Has anyone successfully used "smtp.mail.yahoo.com"?
Cheers!

Subject: Switch ISPs & Forward Mail to new Address?
This desperate plea from someone on another mailing list.
I'm desperate to switch my ISP. I hate AOL, but because I have left my
email
address on hundreds of mailing lists and boards for genealogy purposes, I
hate the idea of switching my email address. Is there an email forwarding
service available? Is there anyway to keep continuity for an extra six
months? I have [sic] trying to figure this out, and the only way I can
imagine is
to set up a new account with a new email address, and keep the AOL for mail
only for six months or so.
BTW, I hate AOL to. How do AOL users get around all limitations? No MIME
support, etc.
Is there a way for this person to use the "free" email from places like
hotmail?
Regards
Steve McLeod

Subject: Decoding a multi-parts file
Hi everybody,
I retrieved via [EMAIL PROTECTED] an executable file 2 MB long . I
received 11 messagges encoded in base64.
I processed the messagges with UUdeview, the result was 11 files. When I
sticked the files togheter (with the type command...), the executable gives
me an error messages, like this "Error format...".
Then I copied all the messages in a big one, cutting all the garbages. When
I decoded the big one, I had an executable, but when I tried to launch it,
it give me an error messagges, like this "Setup - Corrupt installation
detected".
What have I to do? Is there something wrong in my actions or in the file?
Thanks a lot.

Subject: How to Download LARGE file
--------------------
Hi ACCMailers AND Mr. Boyd
Is it possible to request a LARGE file (65 Mb) in parts thru a Gopher
server? My account has a maximum of 5 Mb. If it is not possible,
what server can I use? The file is not located at an FTP site. I
think unganisha & bellanet support the PARTS command, but they
only have a maximum of 6 Mb, and therefore say that the remote
file is too large.
I would appreciate it very much for a response.
Thanks.
Victor

Subject: Re: searching for mailing lists
ONElist hosts thousands of mailing lists about any subject you can
think of. You can search for mailing lists at ONElist by-email.
Some instructions that I've posted here before.
Example:
You are looking for a mailing list at ONElist about dogs.
Send the following message to a www4mail server.
TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
SUBJECT: {You may leave this blank}
BODY: GET http://www.onelist.com/searchlist.cgi?searchval=dogs
* Replace the word "dogs" by a subject of your own choice *
You'll receive descriptions of the first twenty mailing lists about
dogs.
If you're interested in the next twenty mailing lists about dogs,
you'll find a new search string at the bottom of the returned
document. Send this new string to a www4mail server using the GET
command, just like the above example.
A list description will look like this:
[7]Bark [English] [Safe for Kids] [8]Similar lists
Hello! I'm 15 years old, and recently begun a mailing list
about dogs. This list is for all people who love dogs.
If you like the description of the mailing list and you want to
subscribe by e-mail, look for the first word on the first line. That
is the listname. In the above case the listname is: Bark
To subscribe to this (fictitious) Bark mailing list, send a blank
e-mail to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Once subscribed, other available e-mail commands are:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe from the list.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] - switch your subscription to digest mode.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] - switch your subscription to normal mode.
In the above examples you must replace the word "Bark" by an existing
listname.
Hope this helps.
