Hello accmailers, I've heard a lot about interbot lately. I wonder if I could use it with my netscape messenger mail client. If it is possible, I would like to know if it is really useful to rely on such a programm or if it's better (or smarter) to retrieve the pages by hand. You must have a server running Unix/Linux to install the software. All of these programs (agora, ftpmail, and www4mail) are written in Perl. -- Gerry Boyd -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 06:07:49 +0500 From: A-27 Paradise Homes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Enquiry Hello accmailers, What is this download slave? You are in luck, this ftpmailer has a size command: size num[K|M] Set the max size a file can be before it is split up and emailed back in parts to the given number of Kilo or Mega bytes. This is limited to 12582912. So you would do something like: open ftp's URL size 40K dir quit -- Gerry Boyd -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 10:07:27 PDT From: Jrel DD Arbaugh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Retrieve "mailto:" address from web pages: possible??? }Date: Thu, 14 Oct 1999 08:04:45 +0200 }From: Roberto <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> }Subject: Retrieve "mailto:" address from web pages: possible??? } }Hi all. } }I wondering if possible to retrieve "mailto:" address from www pages. } }I'm looking for e-mail of industries, to submitting some job }curricula. } }Is possible to obtain that with e-mail tools (like agora, bitnet oe }others)??? } I see no reason why you could not get the pages from the above servers, then dump them all in to a file that you could then run a command like: find /i "mailto:" <infile >outfile -- | [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jerel. --- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 10:02:22 PDT From: Jrel DD Arbaugh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: uploading to an ftp site }Date: Thu, 14 Oct 1999 17:43:43 +0330 }From: "Mohammad R. These are restricting our }access to mail resources and also flooding up the www4 servers. These are }so unfriendly to ACCmail methods to harness the unlimited resources of the }Internet. Not only Yahoo but almost all the mail servers have these }cookies in them. The result being, we cannot have a Internet Mail account }and access it offline. } These are intended to provide E-mail to users of live WWW connections. Not to provide additional addresses for E-mail only users. In this case, the cookies are a valid security measure: They help prevent others from accessing your mail. The only other way would require your user-name and password on each request. It is a lot less secure to have your password sent that often! ... }Some days back a friend from our list had written that sites unfriendly of }ACCmail methods need to be contacted and requested that these sites to be }made ACCmail friendly. Will or Can Yahoo Inc., do that ? Can Mail }servers work without cookies ? } Webmail (mail via web, not web via mail) can work without cookies, but I would prefer to use POP-mail, if I was using a live connection. As it is, cookies are used for security. In this case, I agree with that use. This is a rare thing for me! Accessing a mail, via web server via a web via mail server sounds a bit convoluted to me. -- | [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jerel. --- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 09:33:20 PDT From: Jrel DD Arbaugh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Sending Email with picture without attachment }Date: Wed, 13 Oct 1999 13:04:05 +0100 }From: Gad Alexander <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> }Subject: Sending Email with picture without attachment } }Hello Accmailers, } }We know that a picture can be attached to an Email. All that the HTML code contains is a link or refference to the picture. That being said, some info is needed: What type of "attachment" is supported by your mail client? Pictures, like programs, are binary files. Binary files MUST be encoded in some way. Most, but not all, modern mail clients will automaticaly, often transparently, perform this function. Read the portions of the FAQ that referr to geting images/pictures from web pages. -- | [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jerel. --- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 22:01:11 +0200 From: Johannes Posel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Enquiry Dear Ahad, > to download big > files through email. Now send your URL to downloadslave, like this: 1. Make a new message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2. write in the first line PASS:<yourpasswort>, example: PASS:132dfgg56 3. Write in the next line the *entire* URL, including http:// or ftp:// (others are currently not supported); example: ftp://ftp.test.com/somedir/someother/test.zip 4. Send the message, and wait ;) Please note: maximum of 3 URLs per message, and 10 Megabyte per File! There's also a daily limit but I dunno how much I didnt hit it :) > Ahad Cheers, Johannes -- ~ Johannes Posel ~ [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~ ~ Homepage @ http://posel.home.pages.de ~ ~ Can be recycled, content is 100 percent electrons ~ ~ PGP-signed eMails welcome :) Check out http://www.pgpi.com ~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 22:05:04 +0200 From: Johannes Posel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Re:_Retrieve_=22mailto:=22_address_from_web_pages:_possible=3F=3F=3F?= Hi Jerel, > }I wondering if possible to retrieve "mailto:" address from www pages. ^^^^^^^^ > I see no reason why you could not get the pages from the above servers, > then dump them all in to a file that you could then run a command like: Mailto isnt like HTTP! a Link like <A HREF="mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]">click me</A> will only launch your default mail application and issue a new message to the adress after the mailto:, not bring you to a web server!
