Try one of the other www4mail servers, I forgot that trieste
zip's stuff. Or try binky, send an email with the command
'help' in the body of the e-mail, then use the command
URLTEXT when you make your request, and use the comand that
causes the message to be split. If all adds at POCKETMAIL.COM
are like you say and require a size of less than 4000 bytes,
send an e-mail to the operator and ask him to make automatic
to split it at 4000 bytes.

Hi Johannes,
You can not use URLrequester by email only, you need an internet connection.
The program needs to contact
<http://www.downloadslave.com/>www.downloadslave.com, as in this dialog (I
have
only email)
Try to connect to host: <http://www.downloadslave.com/>www.downloadslave.com
Downloadslave is not reachable. Please try it later again.
Windows-Socket-Fehler: (10060), auf API 'connect'
If downloadslave does not support requests by email only, it is a great loss.
And if tyou managed to use the requester by email, let us know.
Is there any other service that can get a file without splitting?

Subject: Canine Mail Problem
Hi Acc'ers,
A bit of a strange problem this one, it's probably just me doing
something wrong.
I use the latest version of Canine Mail (can't remember the version,
I'm not at home right now...)
whenever I have an email come in that has multiple parts
(ie some text followed by an image attachment) it comes up as options in a
dropdown box ie [text/plain] and [image] but when I select the [text/plain]
option on the list I get nothing - the attachment option comes through ok.
(I get an icon in the middle of the screen and can click to view the image)
I know that there *is* some text before the image, if I telnet to my mail
port I can read the top of the message.
Is this just a config problem? Or do you think my client is broken?
Fuzzy.

Subject: How can I search the ACCMAIL archives?
Hello ACCMAILers,
I don't want to bother anyone with my questions before searching for the answer myself.
I know that the answer has been posted some time ago on ACCMAIL list,
but is there any method to search the ACCMAIL archives?
I have found them at http://listserv.aol.com/archives/accmail.html
but how can I search them for a given word or expression,
in order to find the answer to my question?
Otherwise, I should have to download all the archives in order to search them.
Wouldn't be useful a search engine for the LISTSERV.AOL.COM archives?
Thanks,
AdiM

We seem to be getting a lot of off topic questions here again. I
rejected 3 already today. This one I let pass just so I could remind the
members that this list is for accessing the internet by email. It is not
a dictionary look up service, a Unix tutorial, a Windows help service of
anything else. It is for questions related to accessing the internet by
email.
xml -- Short for eXtensible Markup Language, a new specification being
developed by the W3C. XML is a pared-down version of SGML, designed
especially for Web documents. It enables designers to create their own
customized tags to provide functionality not available with HTML. For
example, XML supports links that point to multiple documents, as opposed
to HTML links, which can reference just one destination each.

A document you all should have is the LISTSERV reference card. This is
a list of LISTSERV commands (including search commands and parameters)
and can be retrieved by sending email as follows:
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: [leave blank]
Body: INFO REFCARD
In this document you would see the commands to chnage your subscription
options. You have 4 choices: Either to receive the digest version,
individual postings, no mail (for temporary conditions such as a
vacation) or to signoff the list completely.
I don't know exactly what you want so I going to unsubscribe you from
the list.

Strange, I just answered this question yesterday (:>)
Suppose you know a posting was about "uploading to an ftp site". How do
you retrieve it? To retrieve this missing posting, send email as follows:
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: [leave blank]
Body: SEARCH ACCMAIL uploading to an ftp site FROM TODAY-8 TO TODAY-7
Why did I specify the search in this manner? That is:
SEARCH ACCMAIL uploading to an ftp site FROM TODAY-8 TO TODAY-7
Assuming the current day is 21 Oct 1999 then we know the missing mail
was in the period 13 Oct (TODAY-8) to 14 Oct (TODAY-7) and the Subject:
was uploading to an ftp site.
If the current date is more than 30 days from the date of the posting
you wish to retrieve, then you can use the format YY/MM/DD instead of
the TODAY format. The above search could be rewritten as:
SEARCH ACCMAIL Uploading to an ftp site FROM 99/10/13 TO 99/10/14
The search above will return you a piece of mail similar to:
> SEARCH ACCMAIL uploading to an ftp site FROM TODAY-8 TO TODAY-7
-> 2 matches.
Item # Date Time Recs Subject
------ ---- ---- ---- -------
003708 99/10/14 17:43 35 uploading to an ftp site
003712 99/10/14 09:31 45 Re: uploading to an ftp site
To order a copy of these postings, send the following command:
GETPOST ACCMAIL 3708 3712
[snip]
NOTE: The "^" characters above are flags that indicate the portions of
the email messages that contains your search string. In this case, I
used "uploading to an ftp site" so all the words "uploading, to, an,
ftp, site" are flagged in the messages returned from the search.
Now you notice that this piece of mail gives you the instructions on
how to receive a posting. Let's say you decide you only want the second
one, Item# 003712.
Send email as follows:
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: [leave blank]
Body: GETPOST ACCMAIL 3712
NOTE: When retrieving a posting you can omit the leading zeros from the
Item#
If you want more than one posting just separate with a space or use a
range.
Body: GETPOST ACCMAIL 3708 3712
or
Body: GETPOST ACCMAIL 3681 3708-3712

You can enter in the preferences on the first tab a SMTP server. Doesn't this
do the job? I always thought. Perhaps he still wants to down the ad, but the
thing is through. I'm on LAN now so I cannot check ;)
HTH,
