I looked at alsa-base.conf and found the following line: options snd-hda-intel power_save=10 power_save_controller=N which I guess comes with 9.10 default. I removed that line and now everything seem to work fine.
I guess the "power_save function" shuts down the S/PDIF somehow, I will have to dig deeper into that later. Right now Im happy having my spdif back. On my computer my speakers get muted when I plug in the S/PDIF connector, which is the way I want it to be. Thanks you Enrique for the hint about alsa-base.conf //Marcus söndag 04 april 2010 21.22.27 skrev Enrique García Simón: > SPDIF output works fine for me with 2.6.31-20-generic > Acer timeline 5810T, ubuntu 9.10 (again, after a bad experience with 10.4 > alpha) > I have > options snd-hda-intel model=basic > in > /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf > after reading that > https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto > The output of > cat /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/info > says > id: ALC269 Analog > > SPDIF works at the same time that the speakers, and I would like the > speakers stop working when I plug the connector, but it is something I have > no spent time to investigate. > > 2010/4/4 Albert Vilella <[email protected]> > > > ccing to the list. thanks for reporting the bug :-) > > > > On Sun, Apr 4, 2010 at 5:44 PM, Marcus <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Anyone who have tried spdif with linux-image-2.6.31-20-generic in 9.10? > > > Doesn't work form me. > > > > > > With linux-image-2.6.31-19-generic all worked fine. > > > > > > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/555041 > > > -- > > > This message was sent from Launchpad by the user > > > Marcus > > > (https://launchpad.net/~marcus-kall<https://launchpad.net/%7Emarcus-ka > > > ll> > > > > ) > > > > > using the "Contact this team" link on the Acer Timeline/TimelineX > > > laptop team page to each member directly. > > > For more information see > > > https://help.launchpad.net/YourAccount/ContactingPeople > > > > _______________________________________________ > > Mailing list: > > https://launchpad.net/~acertimeline<https://launchpad.net/%7Eacertimelin > > e> Post to : [email protected] > > Unsubscribe : > > https://launchpad.net/~acertimeline<https://launchpad.net/%7Eacertimelin > > e> More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~acertimeline Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~acertimeline More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
