Uhm, what? You mean the BIOS is so broken that it reports
C2 capabilities to the OS without checking that the
processor supports it? Maybe I should open the case and
see if there’s actually an AMD64 in there.

On the other hand I would like to know that happens when
the we do an inb() from P_LVL2 and why I lose ticks when
returning from there. I would also like to point out that
several people from bug #3927 mention lost ticks.

I understand that there is little we can do since I lose
ticks even when entering C2 (or whatever it is) with
interrupts enabled (though fewer than with interrupts disabled),
so that’s why asked for AMD’s assistence (:wink: Mark?).
