------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2006-02-13 20:35 -------
Hi,

I tried 2.6.16-rc3
both
echo mem > /sys/power/state
and
echo standby > /sys/power/state

first mem:
box went down, usb mouse, video fans shut off.
box reacted to power button and came partially back. usb-mouse went on,
harddisk and
dvd-burner, fans spinned up. Video did NOT came up, keyboard was mixed.
The ps/2 keyboard I am using did not react to caps lock, scroll lock, num
lock,. the lights
stayed off, but it reacted to the sysrq keys, so it was not totally dead.

standby:
box went down, fans did not stop, there was still a blinking cursor on the
monitor.
Box came back after pressing power button, I went into X, keyboard, mouse
worked fine.
Network did not came back properly. It was totally dead after resuming. So this
did not
change.

At least the soft lockup seems to be gone

Here is dmesg after standby, before the network-madness started (I forgot to
save that .. I
only thought about it, when the box was rebooting.. I should be in bed for
hours now ;) )
