This is an intermitant hardware error --
APIC Received illegal vector

        /* Here is what the APIC error bits mean:
           0: Send CS error
           1: Receive CS error
           2: Send accept error
           3: Receive accept error
           4: Reserved
           5: Send illegal vector
           6: Received illegal vector
           7: Illegal register address
        */

These should go away if you boot with "noapic".
It would be interesting to know if that also
makes the hangs go away.

I don't know if the hda_intel message is related to
the hang issue -- it would be good to prove that it
is not -- eg. reproduce the hang when hda_intel is not loaded.
