It really would be much better if you just tried to bisect it.
It won't be fixed until somebody has a clue what caused it, or we find it
almost by mistake, and nothing since -rc8 (or, indeed -rc7) is very likely
to have fixed it. So testing new kernels probably won't help, while
testing old kernels (with bisect) should hopefully be able to show what
caused the breakage.
