Yes, thanks, that fixed it !

After the patch the trip points were back to normal and the CPU frequency
stays at 2.2GHz:
$ cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZ1/trip_points

But those multiple USB "event change" messages per-second when no event has 
changed remain, so I have to disable klogd logging to disk:
