GPE storm is a condition then EC starts to send same event over and over again.
If driver gets > 8 of such meaningless events it starts to disable event source
during transaction.

So, it looks like polling is what causes the 4 sec times. You may get better
results if you change HZ=100 to HZ=1000.

You may also try to use SBS instead of disabling it. It did not work for
MacBook owners before, but times change... You need to add "acpi_osi=Darwin"
command line option for BIOS to switch to it.

I'm trying to find a way to prevent storm in EC, but have no success so far.
