--- Comment #25 from Jaromír Cápík <tav...@volny.cz> 2010-03-24 09:00:04 --- Ok ... I will do that during lunch break ... One note ... I found a quite logical difference in behavior between HP Mini 5102 and my second Lenovo R61 laptop where the brightness works according to my expectations ... Lenovo R61> If I set the maximum brightness in GRUB, then boot into Linux, cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness gives me the same value like /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/max_brightness. If I set the minimum brightness in GRUB, then boot into Linux, cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness gives 0. HP Mini 5102> /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness is always set to /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/max_brightness regardless of the brightness set in GRUB (even if the brightness in GRUB is set to minimum) ..... this allows me to decrease the value more than the allowed minimum in GRUB ... but as a consequence I cannot raise it more than the brightness set in GRUB ... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Download Intel® Parallel Studio Eval Try the new software tools for yourself.
