Josh Lehan <kernelbugzi...@krellan.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |kernelbugzi...@krellan.com --- Comment #88 from Josh Lehan <kernelbugzi...@krellan.com> 2010-06-09 16:55:54 --- I can confirm the patch in comment #35 works great, in kernel 2.6.34, to fix the ACPI bug for my Toshiba L505D-LS5005 laptop. With vanilla 2.6.34, the bug is the same as in earlier kernel versions: it fails to complete booting, getting stuck in an endless loop of ACPI messages that scroll up the screen. It appears to be stuck in an infinite loop. Booting up with "acpi=off" is a workaround that will give a successful boot, but then, all ACPI functionality is lost. With the patch in comment #35 installed, however, kernel 2.6.34 works, and all ACPI functionality is just fine. Any reason why that patch can't make it into the mainstream kernel? It would solve a lot of problems for people with Toshiba laptops. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ThinkGeek and WIRED's GeekDad team up for the Ultimate GeekDad Father's Day Giveaway.
