I have the same problem here with my Asus V1Sn/T7700 CPU and an 2.6.34.7 kernel
(OpenSuSe). Apparently the EC returns the wrong temperature. Some time ago, I
had the problem, that the EC always returned a temperature much to high and the
fan was blowing very loud, although the sensors showed a lower temperature.
After several weeks I found out that you can reset the EC by removing the
power/laptop battery for 5 minutes. After this the EC temperature was correct.

The problem with the notebook shutting down occasionally because it thinks that
the temperature is 127C (which it is not) remains unfortunately.

The modern datacenter depends on network connectivity to access resources
and provide services. The best practices for maximizing a physical server's
connectivity to a physical network are well understood - see how these
rules translate into the virtual world?
