Thanks for your answer. 
1. I use the the SUSPEND button on the Linux Mint graphical panel which pops up
if I press the my Acer's power button. Exactly the same happens if I send the
command  'systemctl suspend'  from terminal (which is I think suspend to RAM,
STR).

2. balint@Aspire-V3 ~ $ cat /sys/power/mem_sleep
s2idle [deep]

3. Unfortunately for about two weeks I will not be able to perform a deeper PM
test you  suggested.

However I checked my BIOS wich I use: Sys.BIOS V1.02, VGA BIOS IntelV1024
