"Things seem to work" is because i have only used the laptop for a day and i haven't tested every single scenario, but as far as i can tell it works. I wasn't able to boot with ivrs parameter before and i had no use of the laptop that was only useful as an paperweight, it couldn't suspend or hibernate.
