I'm not saying that different OS's should have the same energy behaviour but going from 6h -> 5h -> 3h and less as the battery material degrades is not good. I'm not expert in linux internals but I kept open the CPU usage graph in both windows and linux, and while the percentages were very close with same usage the draining was faster.
