Hibernation rarely ever works without this thermal/fan issue (sensor stuck at reading 48°C, thus Fan running). I can still control the fan manually via: echo level 0 > /proc/acpi/ibm/fan for no fan activity or echo level 7 > /proc/acpi/ibm/fan for full fan activity and every level inbetween.
