I deployed an Active 4D web server about 2 months ago. The 4D Server was crashing in the middle of the night.
The local administrator reports "We are getting the following error in the application log - Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. Return value (1722). The Microsoft website says to take the machine out of the domain and re-add it back it. We have done this, but we still are getting the error. However, this morning I noticed something amiss with the network setting - the DNS suffixes being used weren't correct - could be why the error above was being issued. I have fixed this and since 09:00 this morning no errors have occurred - it was being issued every hour or so. We will monitor and see how it goes unless you have any other suggestions?" Are these errors caused by Active 4D (i.e. Active 4D trying to use a badly configured system) ? Could something like this cause Active 4D to leak (not release) memory and therefore ultimately "strangle" 4D Server ? -- Cheers, Ian
