Telling the system to ignore the 4d applications IP address in the proxy settings works ok for us (great if you can do this).
Yes, but then the proxy server has to contain all of the possible sites and web servers which use query strings to define dynamic content!!! Nightmare and horrifically unsolvable.
Anyone have a sure fire way of getting 4d/active4d apps to work with web proxies (i.e. Methodology?)
Off the top of my head, I'd suggest that switching away from using query strings would work well, using dynamic URL parsing instead. It probably means a fairly intensive methodological shift, but works very well if you can afford the development time and costs. A better man than I has written an easy to understand article on the principles:
