I wonder if 4D Server holds up better under a load. 20 clients plus web access and it's the same speed sounds like the 4D Server is actually faster. Can you tell a difference in performance if 4D Server has only web users connected? I mean, is it faster than 4D for web access without clients. > We switched from Windows servers to Mac when OSX and 4D 6.8 came out > and have since upgraded to 4D 2003. I would not have expected the Mac to outperform a Windows box on raw disk I/O. I wonder if memory has anything to do with the speed. How much memory is everyone using? In general, I tend to put as much RAM as I can in a MacOS X server but is there a minimum recommended? (I mean a real world minimum as opposed to what 4D recommends) Has anyone found that more memory significantly helps performance?
